Market Commentary
January 2021

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) has posted the sales figures for December, and for a sixth consecutive month, sales of residential property in the GTA have set a monthly record. The 7,180 sales reported through the MLS System make it the most active December in history, with a 64.5% increase over December 2019.

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope that so far 2021 is finding you rested, healthy, and ready to tackle the challenges of a new season.  As you know, Ontario is currently in a lockdown. We don’t really know what the future holds, but at this moment in time, real estate continues to be deemed an essential service.

Jet Set

Obviously, our opportunity to travel has been severely limited this holiday season, and any plans to set sail to some far off, fabulous destination have been temporarily grounded. Fortunately, there are some global experiences that can still be enjoyed, even when travel is off the table. These days, much of the world is just a click away.

Travel the Province

One Craft Beer at a Time

While the pandemic has made it difficult to experience and explore the province, there’s still one way to get a taste of local flavour—by sampling a few of the craft beers being brewed across Ontario.  To help you plan your ‘journey’ we’ve scoured the province and put together a flight of six brews that will whet your whistle and satisfy your thirst for a little adventure.

True Equilibrium

Quite frequently, I am asked why we named our firm Red Studio. I cannot deny a passion for the colour red, but it also stands for our mission: re-defining environmental design. We have always taken a unique approach to sustainability in architecture, centering around human health and wellness. Our work is embedded in the notion that we are all products of our environment. We believe that environmental preservation is paramount, since there can be no human health without a healthy planet.

The Thrill of the Hill

Winter officially begins on Dec. 21st and ends on March 20th, which means it lasts approximately 12 weeks long. For some people, this can feel like an eternity…but it doesn’t have to be that way. This winter you can turn every week into a fun-filled, adrenaline rush by vowing to sled and slay a different GTA toboggan hill every seven days.

The Collection is our exclusive community and lifestyle magazine. Wherever your interests lie (food, drink, events, arts, and culture), we’ve got you covered. Visit to read the Winter 2021 digital magazine.
