Through our global network of real estate affiliates, I have the pleasure of attending many informative and big picture market presentations. A recent one that I attended featured a senior economist with the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). In the meeting, we were given an overview of the Canadian housing market in the year 2021. It was an eyeopener to say the least.

Icewine is unique from other wines. It’s produced from grapes that have been left on the vine well beyond the fall harvest. Not till the weather temperature drops to -8° or less, on a consistent basis (usually in December), are the grapes harvested. Each grape is hand-picked during the night and pressed immediately, while still frozen, to capture a thick, rich, yellow-gold liquid that is highly-concentrated in sugars and acidity.

Defined as the generation born between 1981–1996, it’s safe to say that Millennials are not kids anymore. They have families, degrees, and high-paying jobs. They also make up the largest percentage of luxury real estate buyers — 37 percent, in fact, as of 2019. As Millennials become the new majority in real estate, they’re also exerting significant influence over amenities, design trends and the overall marketplace, with interests ranging from smart technology to organic materials.
