Forest Hill is one of Toronto's most affluent neighbourhoods in the city. Forest Hill along with the Bridle Path and Rosedale are the three most affluent neighbourhoods in Toronto.

Beginning as a settlement in the 1860's Forest Hill has grown with the reputation of huge lots with prestigious homes. Over the years Forest Hill has been divided into north and south. The North neighbourhood is north of Eglinton, east of the Allen and west of Avenue Rd. This northern part is still known for luxury homes though the lots and home sizes are smaller than the south part of Forest Hill.

South Forest Hill is bordered by St. Clair Ave. west to the south and Eglinton Ave. west to the north and Bathurst to the west and Oriole Parkway to the east. The southern part boasts some of the largest and most prestigious homes in the city.

The streets of Forest Hill ooze tradition and have an identity of their own. The price of a home in Forest Hill South starts at around 2 million dollars but if you are looking for the luxuries of life it's worth every penny. With its proximity to downtown we have seen property values increase in this neighbourhood.

The north homes are more modest on 40-50 ft lots dominated Tudor and Georgian style homes. What is unique about the north you are still able to find traditional English country manors and French colonials that tend to be luxurious to the detail.

Forest Hill like Rosedale is set amongst the Beltline railway and boasts beautiful walking and biking paths throughout. Known for its beautiful architecture and gardens a stroll down most of the streets is a wonderful escape from everyday life.

Shopping is wonderful in this area as you see less of the big box stores and the streets particularly in The Village are lined with small boutiques and fine restaurants to please any taste. If you are looking for one of the finest neighbourhoods in Toronto close to both north and south Toronto then Forest Hill is the place to live.
